What is CaseSnappy and how does it work?

CaseSnappy is an AI-powered legal research platform that provides users with structured, accessible and trustworthy AI summaries of legal judgments and concepts. The platform includes our web app with a curated database of more than three thousand cases and concepts, alongside our Summarizer browser extension which allows you to summarise cases directly within legal databases covering 14 jurisdictions.

Our Student and Commercial plans also include agentic deep research, where CaseSnappy automatically finds cases similar to the one you're studying and explains the legal concepts that connect them.

What’s included in each plan (Lite, Student, Commercial)?

CaseSnappy Lite is our most basic plan, perfect if you're trying to learn more about the law as a hobby. You can generate 3 summaries per day from any of our available cases or concepts. The Lite plan has always been, and will always be, free.

CaseSnappy Student is our discounted plan exclusively for those with a valid student email address. Designed for studying, it allows you to generate 25 summaries per day and provides full access to the CaseSnappy Summarizer browser extension. You can request to add cases and concepts to our web app database on-demand, and have the ability to directly copy and paste our summaries. You'll also get access to our agentic deep research feature, which finds similar cases and explains how they connect.

CaseSnappy Commercial is our highest tier plan, best for meticulous students, lawyers and researchers. You’ll get all of the perks of the Student plan, but can generate 100 summaries per day (4x what's possible on the Student plan)!

We also often offer discount codes during holidays and revision periods, as well as for attendees of our events. Keep an eye on our social media pages for announcements!

How accurate are the AI-generated summaries?

In a word, very. We hold ourselves to very high standards of accuracy and ensure this through a combination of tech and human review. Sceptical? Try the platform for yourself: If you find an inaccuracy in any of our content, you can report it here!

Is CaseSnappy suitable for academic use?

CaseSnappy's technology is specifically built to ensure that students avoid the academic pitfalls of AI use in legal research by emphasising accuracy and consistency. The platform is designed to enhance student research and writing capabilities, rather than replace them.

CaseSnappy is not intended to discourage use of traditional legal research methods, but instead to complement them as one tool in the student’s arsenal of legal research. Further, CaseSnappy frees up more time for in-depth research and other higher value work. Key concepts in case summaries are automatically identified, as are related cases, whilst full judgments are linked to almost all of CaseSnappy's summaries.

This approach actively encourages students to engage in further research and develop essential critical analysis skills, ensuring that AI serves as a stepping stone to deeper learning rather than a substitute for it.

We strictly prohibit the copying of CaseSnappy’s content for use in academic assessment. CaseSnappy's commitment to responsible AI use in legal education is demonstrated through its free online course on the responsible use of AI for law students, available on The Open University's OpenLearn platform.
